Layne founded HD Build with a vision to bring reliability, craftsmanship, and people-first values to the construction industry. With nearly two decades of experience from coast to coast, he has guided the company’s growth from a single-trade subcontractor into a multi-trade partner trusted by clients nationwide. As President, Layne leads with a focus on building strong relationships — both within the HD Build team and with clients — believing that great projects start with trust and collaboration. His hands-on approach and dedication to continuous improvement set the tone for the company’s culture and success.
Kristin Thompson
Office Manager
Kristin keeps the heart of HD Build’s operations running smoothly. As Office Manager, she manages daily administration, project documentation, and compliance requirements, ensuring that our work consistently meets industry and client standards. Her attention to detail and strong organizational skills help maintain accurate records, streamline communication, and support every part of the team. By overseeing both office operations and compliance, Kristin plays a vital role in keeping projects moving efficiently and confidently.
Thomas Hughes
General Superintendent / Estimator
As General Superintendent, Thomas oversees field operations across all HD Build projects, ensuring consistent execution, quality control, manpower planning, and jobsite standards company-wide. He leads and supports our team of superintendents, providing structure, accountability, and hands-on guidance to keep projects running efficiently.
In addition to his field leadership, Thomas plays a key role in preconstruction, estimating, and business development. His experience allows him to bridge the gap between what is priced, what is planned, and what is built — helping ensure our projects are set up for success from the start.
By connecting operations, estimating, and client relationships, Thomas helps drive both performance in the field and long-term growth for the company.
Humberto Moreno
Superintendent
As Superintendent, Humberto oversees day-to-day field operations on his assigned projects with a calm, steady leadership style. He works closely with our General Superintendent and project managers to ensure schedules are followed, crews are supported, and work is completed to HD Build’s standards.
Known for his thorough approach, Humberto pays close attention to detail, jobsite organization, and quality control. He takes pride in doing things the right way and making sure nothing is overlooked.
His consistent, thoughtful leadership helps create stability on site and ensures projects move forward with precision and professionalism.
Higinio Montes
Superintendent
As Superintendent, Higinio leads day-to-day field operations on his assigned projects, bringing strong energy and a positive presence to every jobsite. He works closely with our General Superintendent and project managers to keep crews aligned, schedules moving, and communication clear.
Higinio is highly personable and builds strong relationships with crews, trade partners, and general contractors. His approachable leadership style helps create a motivated, team-focused environment while maintaining HD Build’s standards for safety, quality, and production.
His enthusiasm and drive play an important role in keeping projects moving efficiently and fostering strong teamwork across the field.
Jose Inzurriaga
Assistant Superintendent
As Assistant Superintendent, Jose supports field operations across assigned projects, working closely with our General Superintendent and project superintendents to ensure daily work progresses smoothly and efficiently.
He assists with manpower coordination, production tracking, jobsite organization, and safety oversight, helping crews stay aligned with project expectations and HD Build’s standards of quality.
Jose is eager to learn and grow within the company, continuously developing his leadership skills and expanding his knowledge of field operations. His strong work ethic and team-first mindset make him a valuable part of our field leadership team and a key contributor to our continued growth.
